The West End Health Foundation Awards Recipients for Spring Capital and Special Grants

ISHPEMING, MICH – The West End Health Foundation (WEHF) hosted a check presentation for the Spring Capital Grant Awardees on May 20, 2024. The amount of funding for the Spring Capital Grants totaled $50,000. The foundation also presented checks for its two annual partnerships totaling $20,000.

The Board of Directors presented the following Spring Capital Grants with a check presentation: Marquette County received $8,250 for search and rescue, Courage Incorporated received $10,000 for equipment upgrades, Marquette County Habitat for Humanity received $10,000 for its home repair program, Michigamme United Methodist Institute received $2,750 for a lawn mower at Camp Michigamme, Negaunee Senior Citizens Center received $2,500 for Capturing Memories/Expanding Horizons, Pregnancy Services of Marquette dba Care Clinic received $2,000 for Food and Freshen UP, Superior Shore Systems Inc., received $4,500 for boxes for food, and the West End Townships Emergency Services Authority (WETESA) received $10,000 for AED upgrades and replacement accessories. The two partnerships presented with checks were Start the Cycle, which received $10,000 for materials and raffle bikes, and U.P. Children’s Therapy, which received $10,000 for Project Sideline.
