West End Health Foundation Announces 10th Annual Golf Classic at Wawonowin Country Club
ISHPEMING, MI — Summer is here, and it’s time to dust off your clubs for another fun season of golf! The West End Health Foundation (WEHF), in partnership with the Marquette County Cares Coalition (MC²), is proud to announce the 10th Annual WEHF Golf Classic, taking place on Friday, September 5, 2025, at the scenic Wawonowin Country Club.
Now in its seventh year partnering with MC², the Annual Golf Classic has become a signature event supporting youth development and health initiatives across Marquette County. Golfers can expect a memorable day featuring an upscale brunch with a Mimosa and Bloody Mary bar, a shotgun start for 18 holes of spirited play, and an awards ceremony with heavy appetizers to wrap up the day.
“We are incredibly proud to celebrate the 10th Annual Golf Classic alongside our longtime partners at the Marquette County Cares Coalition,” said Tom Edmark, President of the West End Health Foundation. “This event is more than just a fun day on the course; it’s a powerful way to support local youth and strengthen our communities. Every dollar raised goes directly back into programs that make a real difference in the lives of young people across Marquette County. We are so grateful for the continued support from our sponsors, donors, and golfers, and we look forward to another memorable and meaningful event.”
This year, WEHF and MC² invite new teams and sponsors to join the tradition, as they also welcome back many familiar faces. The registration form outlines sponsorship levels and benefits and is available online at westendhf.org/calendar. The deadline to register is August 15, 2025. Sponsors will be recognized throughout the day on the course and at the awards ceremony. Organizers are also seeking raffle basket donations to enhance the fundraising experience.
All proceeds from the Golf Classic will directly support MC²’s community-based efforts to promote the healthy development of young people through evidence-based prevention programs. Thanks to community support in 2024, MC² delivered over 200 social-emotional learning lessons to more than 300 students, expanded teen mental health initiatives, and strengthened parental involvement programming across the county.
“We are deeply honored to once again partner with the West End Health Foundation for the 10th Annual Golf Classic,” said Jessy DeMarinis, Marquette County Cares Coalition (MC²) Coordinator. “The continued collaboration between MC² and WEHF has made a meaningful impact on youth and families throughout Marquette County. We are grateful to the Foundation for their trust in our mission and for their commitment to building healthier, more connected communities. Together, we’re making a difference that lasts well beyond the 18th hole.”
