West End Health Foundation Announces $15,000 in Year-End Giving to Support Community Food Security and Holiday Outreach

Ishpeming, MI — The West End Health Foundation is proud to announce special holiday charitable giving totaling $15,000 to support local organizations addressing food insecurity and providing meaningful holiday assistance to individuals and families across the West End.

As part of this initiative, the Foundation has awarded $5,000 each to the Salvation Army and St. Vincent de Paul, two organizations with long-standing missions of providing essential food assistance, emergency support, and compassionate care to those in need. In addition, $2,500 grants have been awarded to both the Ishpeming Senior Center and the Negaunee Senior Center to support senior-focused meal programs and holiday activities, including the Adopt-a-Senior initiative.

“This year-end giving reflects our commitment to ensuring that our neighbors, especially seniors and families, have access to nutritious food, dignity, and connection during the holiday season,” said Kori Bjorne of the West End Health Foundation. “Food insecurity does not pause during the holidays, and neither should our response. These organizations are trusted partners doing vital work every day, and we are honored to support their efforts.”

Funds from this year-end distribution will help expand food pantry resources, provide meals, and support holiday programs that reduce isolation and bring comfort to seniors and families who may otherwise go without. The grants also reinforce the Foundation’s broader mission to strengthen community health and well-being through collaboration and targeted local investment.

The West End Health Foundation extends its gratitude to the Salvation Army, St. Vincent de Paul, Ishpeming Senior Center, and Negaunee Senior Center for their unwavering dedication to serving the community. Together, these partnerships help ensure that the spirit of generosity, care, and hope remains strong throughout the West End, during the holidays and beyond.
