West End Health Foundation Awards $15,000 Grant to Trillium House
Ishpeming, MI – The West End Health Foundation (WEHF) has awarded a $15,000 grant to Trillium House to support its West End Resident Care Program. The grant will be distributed over three years, reinforcing WEHF’s commitment to improving access to compassionate end-of-life care for West End residents.
The WEHF Board of Directors presented the grant check to Trillium House Executive Director Melissa Cavill on December 8, 2025. The funding will help offset the cost of providing hospice care for West End residents who require a safe, supportive, and home-like setting during a critical time in their lives.
“We are grateful for the three-year grant opportunity from the West End Health Foundation,” said Cavill. “This grant will help cover some of the cost of caring for those who need hospice support at Trillium House for a total of 50 days a year for three years. That’s 150 days of high-quality, compassionate care in a safe and home-like environment, and it’s all designated specifically for West End residents.”
Trillium House offers a peaceful, residential setting for individuals receiving hospice services and short-term care who are unable to remain comfortably in their homes. Since opening in 2018, Trillium House has served hundreds of individuals and families across the Upper Peninsula, working collaboratively with local hospice agencies to ensure continuity of care.
